Used globally across 14+ languages, VVD uses on-device neural network voice detection and proprietary audio analysis to automate camera switching with 20ms response times — 10x faster than a human operator. It integrates with over 30 protocols and devices including BlackMagic ATEM, Tricaster, vMix, OBS Studio, NDI, VISCA, Lawo VSM, Pathfinder Core Pro, and Skaarhoj controllers.

Our Team
Toby Mills - Founder & Head Technologist
Toby founded Noise Productions in 2002 and has spent over two decades at the intersection of audio engineering, broadcast technology, and software development.
With a BSc in Information Systems from Massey University and deep experience as a sound engineer and multi-instrumentalist, Toby created Virtual Video Director to solve a real problem he encountered in live production — the need for reliable, intelligent camera automation that works without constant manual intervention.
Today, VVD is used by broadcasters across the globe. Toby leads all product development, from the neural network voice detection engine to the 30+ device integrations that make VVD the most connected automation platform in the industry.
